2015 Mazda6

Thanks to a combination of advanced technology and impressive engineering, the 2015 Mazda6 mpg ratings are some of the best in its class! Currently available here at Biggers Mazda, the all-new Mazda6 is as sporty and fun to drive as it is efficient. This is because the Mazda6 is powered by a standard SkyActiv-G engine and uses a variety of features to improve fuel economy!

The SkyActiv Difference

Under the hood of every 2015 Mazda6 is a standard 2.5L I-4 SkyActiv-G powertrain that delivers 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of maximum torque for fast acceleration at any speed. Best of all, this engine allows the new Mazda6 to get an estimated 40 mpg (with automatic transmission and i-ELOOP) on the highway without compromising overall performance. 2015 Mazda6 mpg figures are as follows:

  • 2.5L SkyActiv-G with manual transmission – 25 mpg city/37 mpg highway
  • 2.5L SkyActiv-G with automatic transmission – 26 mpg city/38 mpg highway
  • 2.5L SkyActiv-G with automatic transmission and i-ELOOP – 28 mpg city/40 mpg highway

This is because SkyActiv technology works to produce more low- and mid-range torque while lowering emissions and fuel consumption. Coupled with the SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission, the result is an incredibly efficient, yet capable vehicle that satisfies a variety of driving styles!

i-ELOOP Technology

Available for the 2015 Mazda6 is a regenerative braking feature that captures energy when your foot is not on the accelerator. This system is known as i-ELOOP regenerative braking, and it works by converting kinetic energy into electricity. The electricity gathered by this system is used to power your vehicle’s in-car amenities. This includes:

  • Your headlights
  • Your climate control system
  • Your infotainment and audio system
  • Your power steering

In turn, the new Mazda6 ends up using less fuel to power these components, since the regenerative braking system does all the work instead! A recent study determined that the i-ELOOP system ends up improving the real-world fuel efficiency of the Mazda6 up to 5 percent. Between i-ELOOP and the standard SkyActiv powertrain, you’ll be driving longer and saving more at the pump with this vehicle!
