Nationwide Millionth Miata Celebration Tour Kicks Off This Summer

On the heels of the production of the one-millionth Mazda MX-5 Miata in April, Mazda embarked on a worldwide Millionth Miata Celebration Tour to honor owners and fans for their passion and loyalty to the best-selling roadster of all time. Now, the tour is hitting the United States, beginning and ending at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California.

The Event of a Lifetime

The Mazda MX-5 Miata has inspired a love for roadsters all over the world since its debut in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show. A 27 year-old original Classic Red Miata, the 15th one off the assembly line, is accompanying the millionth car on the worldwide tour. The one-millionth car is a Japanese-specification right-hand-drive model with a soft top, and it’s equipped with the latest engine, a 1.5L SKYACTIV®-G. These cars, along with individuals who were key to the development of the Mazda MX-5 Miata, are visiting locations selected based on sales and enthusiastic owners clubs. A limited number of owners and fans at each celebration will get to sign the one-millionth Mazda MX-5 Miata, and commemorative T-shirts will be given to up to 400 attendees per location.
