Experts are expecting a sneak peek of the Mazda CX-4 crossover to fill the void in the vast lineup. This upcoming model draws inspiration from station wagon styling with a fun and fresh twist that is uniquely Mazda. The Mazda CX-4 crossover is expected to unveil at the upcoming 2016 Beijing Auto Show. After the positive reception of the Mazda Koeru concept last fall, Mazda’s CEO stated that they would follow up with the concept by bringing a station wagon to life. The public was also told that the wagon would be sportier than the Koeru concept. This has lead to speculation that the Mazda CX-4 could utilize elements of the Koeru concept with a crossover twist.

Speculation

Not all details have been revealed yet, and most of the information is speculated from past conferences with Mazda. However, Mazda released a photo with a cropped view of the anticipated crossover for loyal fans of the brand. Though we can only see the roofline and brawny shoulders of the model, the CX-4 already looks promising. While engine information hasn’t been released, auto experts are assuming there will be a carryover of the 2.5L engine from the three-row CX-9. It is also assumed that the new model will fall between the size of a mid-size and large crossover.

Mazda CX-4 Availability

Mazda announced that the Mazda CX-4 crossover would initially release in China to test its market. Expect this vehicle to have major global appeal, eventually hitting other markets as well. We may see one here in the states soon. Mazda is currently working on marketing specs for the crossover.
