- You first need to remove the auxiliary key. This is done through pressing the auxiliary key button on the back of the key fob.
- Once you remove the metal key, you will see a slot on each side of the key fob.
- Carefully place the tape covered flathead screwdriver in each of the slots to open the case.
- Once the case is removed, ensure you place the cover somewhere where you won’t lose it.
How to Change Battery in Mazda Key Fob?
Once the case is removed, you should have access to the Mazda key battery. Let’s review this quick and easy process:
- First, remove the battery cap and place it somewhere safe.
- Carefully remove the key fob battery ensuring you don’t damage the small rubber ring that the battery rests on.
- In the case that you have accidentally damaged the rubber ring, this should be replaced prior to replacing the battery.
- Once you ensure that the rubber ring is safely in place, you can insert the new battery ensuring that the positive (+) side of the battery is facing up.
- After the battery is in place, you can then place the key fob case back on, ensuring both clicks snap into place on each side.
