2017 Mazda3

Mazda has announced that its award-winning, standard-setting Mazda3 is preparing to hit the road once again—this time as a 2017 model boasting various upgrades. The 2017 Mazda3 debut is slated to take place very soon, with new models scheduled to hit dealerships in September 2016.

Elevated Design

Among its style tweaks for the new model year, the Mazda3 adds exterior changes that include a striking new grille, and available LED headlights and tail lights. A revamped rear bumper in the five-door models spreads a high-end, monochromatic style to the lower valences.

Upscale changes have occurred on the inside as well. Leather seating surfaces in perforated black or almond are now available, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel has been restyled to offer a more comfortable grip with new available heating elements.

An electric parking brake will now come standard, along with a sliding, covered center console. New door pockets up front have also been enlarged to three times the size they were in the former model.

Performance Prowess

The 2017 Mazda3 will now feature standard G-Vectoring Control, which is a new technology that is exclusive to the Mazda brand and facilitates sharper chassis control.

Interior quiet has been kicked up a notch as well. Drivers can enjoy enhanced NVH damping, tighter body gaps, upgraded sound insulation, and revamped weather stripping. These changes make the Mazda3 3dB quieter when traveling 25 mph over rough terrain.

Safety Upgrades

New safety features onboard the 2017 Mazda3 include available Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring and Traffic Sign Recognition, along with a full-color Active Driving Display. Mazda’s existing i-ACTIVSENSE® lineup of safety offerings includes features like Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Smart Brake Support, and Smart City Brake Support to round out the great list of features.

The currently available 2016 Mazda3 has received top safety ratings for its crashworthiness, including a 5-Star Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. While the forthcoming 2017 model has not yet been tested by those agencies, we wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see top marks once again for the exceptional Mazda3 in 2017.
