Review of the 2012 Mazda CX-7
Biggers Mazda, your Roselle-area dealership has the 2012 Mazda CX-7 in stock. We think that this car is a great choice for a fun-to- drive practical vehicle. Crossovers are surging in popularity across the board because they offer the functionality and capacity of an SUV, but with the sportier handling and better fuel efficiency of a sedan. Here’s what we like about the 2012 CX-7.
Powertrain and Performance
The standard CX-7 gets a 2.5L four-cylinder that generates a respectable 161 hp and 161 lb-ft of torque. This model gets an EPA estimated 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and combined 22 mpg. An upgrade to the CX-7 S receives the turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder that makes a more muscular 244 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque with its 6-speed automatic. Both come with front wheel drive and on the CX-7 S, all-wheel drive is optional. The CX-7 S gets 18 mpg city, 24 highway, and 20 combined while the all wheel drive version get 17 mpg city, 21 highway, and 20 combined. The Mazda produces a thoroughly sporty ride with great cornering and braking.
Interior and Comfort
The Mazda CX-7 doesn’t short you on interior comforts either. The design is as attractive and functional as the outside. The three-spoke steering wheel conveniently contains audio controls and all five seats provide ample room, even when fully loaded. Behind the seat you have a huge 30 cubic feet of cargo space so you can carry whatever you need. The Mazda also has a great navigational system option available for a minimal upcharge.
Every 2012 CX-7 gets traction and stability control systems and antilock brakes which will keep you glued to the road regardless of the conditions. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety thought the CX-7 deserved its best rating of “Good” for both frontal-offset and side-impact crash worthiness.
